This collection features twenty-two unique, luminous paintings of Tara. Iconically. she is the Great Mother Goddess. In Tibetan Buddhism, Tara is Mother of all The Buddhas. She embodies the enlightened aspects and activities of all of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. Revealing the awakened state of mind in feminine form to inspire and liberate all, she is readily accessible to everyone. Those who sing her praises seek to emulate her and attain her divine qualities. This presentation provides an introduction to this path as well as an enhancement to a path already taken.
The flow of this work mirrors the Tibetan practice of chanting praises to Tara and invites the viewer to participate. Powerful. non-traditional paintings depict each of Tara's Twenty-One exquisitely desirable qualities. Each painting is accompanied by an adaptation of the corresponding traditional icon.
The synergy of paintings, icons and text makes this work prime for publication, suitable to books, cards, posters and fine-art prints-- made for simple pleasure, aesthetic contemplation or structured devotional practice. The entire original art collection is also available to be shown, making for a striking and educational exhibit-- on its own or accompanied by publications.
