Iconically, Tara is the Great Mother Goddess. In Tibetan Buddhism, she is Mother of the Buddha and embodies the enlightened aspects and activities of all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. These comprise the peaceful or fierce qualities represented by the paintings Tara 01-Tara 21, while Tara 00 is an expression of the totality of Tara and illustrates her mantra- Om Tare Tutare Ture Soha.
